We Can Still Make A Difference Within The Boundaries

It’s ironic that I decide to let this be my first post on this new blog site that’s all about being the black sheep in politics. What’s interesting though is that I’m noticing that those who seem to fit the Black Sheep Status are those who don’t obnoxiously buck the system and cause chaos. They’re the ones who respect the process and are able to move the political sphere in good ways by abiding by the laws and rules.

They’re blameless and irreproachable because they don’t make themselves fodder for those they threaten within the system by making spectacles of themselves. For example: I’ve watched Majority Leader Odenbach work within the system to bring in new legislators and I’ve watched Speaker Hansen hoghouse a bill to make it more friendly towards property rights.

People like that understand how the system works and therefore use it to bring victories for the people, all the while keeping their hands clean because they follow the rules. This is a huge threat to the establishment because they can’t use anything against people like that to try to get rid of them.

That is Black Sheep Status: buck the system by working within its boundaries to bring victories and therefore being untouchable and uncontrollable by said system.

It’s been an interesting journey from getting involved as much as I can in the state GOP and helping various groups to achieve victories in the many battles we’ve all faced to where I’m now on my own. When I ask those who know me why I find myself here, they say it’s because I ask too many questions, won’t be controlled by others, and won’t abide by social cues of simply going along to get along and keep the approval I had.

It’s an interesting take and I know it’s true. I just hope that people will see that I’m on a journey as a simple voter to be as engaged as possible, to find the real, factual truth of things and people, and share what I discovered with my fellow voters. By doing this I hope we can be a more informed populace and therefore not so easily duped by the overdramatic frenzy of narratives thrown at us in order to be used to achieve the agenda of any certain group, organization, or political candidate.

I’ve been told that I’m the type of black sheep that jumped the pen and ran full tilt for the green pastures. So here I am from the outside looking in and we’ll see what we learn!
